New Completer Patches!
Introducing our new completer patches (or 'compleator' in the case of the Munros) for the Munros of Scotland, Wainwrights of the Lake District and Ethels of the Peak District...
Climbing all 282 Munros is for many the pinnacle of their hill walking journey - achieved over many years, in all weathers and conditions. A true test of stamina, commitment, skills and experience. 'Compleating' all Scotland's mountains over 3000ft earns one the title of Munroist, and a place in the list maintained by the Scottish Mountaineering Club. You can also now mark this amazing achievement with our new patch!
The 214 Lakeland Fells described by Alfred Wainwright in his famous series of walking guides to the area are, after the Munros, perhaps the best known of the UK hill lists. Again, representing the culmination of many days in the fells, climbing all of the Wainwrights is a major achievement and something that typically takes years to complete. Of course, there are exceptions to this and the current record for a round of the Wainwrights is a staggering 5 days, 12hrs and 14min! However you bag the Wainwrights, in record time or over a lifetime, our new patch is a fitting momento to this mountain milestone.
Lastly, the Ethels are a relatively new list of trigs, hills, tors and edges in the Peak District - named after Ethel Haythornthwaite; the pioneering environmentalist and founder of the countryside charity that we now know as CPRE Peak District and South Yorkshire. There are 95 Ethels in total, making them more achievable than the Munros and Wainwrights - albeit still a great hill walking challenge that is more than deserving of celebration with our Ethels completer patch!
We very much hope that you like these new patches.
Warm regards,
Chris and Dom
